Great first experience! Staff loves their job and it shows
Very polite and professional. My puppy is slightly dog aggressive and the receptionist let me check in over the phone and brought us inside when the waiting area was clear. They gave me samples of a flea and tick med, a measuring cup for food, and a kong dog toy at the end of the appointment.
The doctors are super nice & they tend to your animals needs quick. I called them to inform them about my grandpup having to go to the emergency room the day before & I need to do a follow up. They squeezed us in for later that day.
Boarded my dog here for the first time. Very affordable and they provide the food, which is nice. However, every time I contacted them, they seemed unorganized. I told them that my dog is not great around other animals. When we came to drop my dog off, there were cats roaming, and I mentioned again that my dog is not comfortable around other animals since the previous owner had not socialized him. They seemed to have forgotten that and I suppose it was not listed it in his notes, as other boarding facilities tend to do. Every time I called, they also asked how long he was staying there, as if it was not documented somewhere. I was also misquoted as to how much it would cost to board my dog. After already paying for the week, they called me stating that they forgot to charge me a $30 fee for picking him up on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. They originally told me this would be a $10.00 fee, not $30 to simply pick him up. I also called to check in on how my dog was doing, and the staff was not very friendly and seemed bothered by the fact that I had called to check in on him. Lastly, he received a vaccination while boarding. I requested the record multiple times. On the last attempt, I received an email, but it had the list of vaccinations I had provided to them, rather than a document explaining the vaccination they gave him. I called to inquire about this and the person acted like I couldn't read an email and didn't believe me when I stated they sent over the wrong document, even after attesting to this multiple times. Eventually, she finally checked her sent email and realized that she had sent the wrong document. I am okay with mistakes, I am not okay with being made to feel like an idiot because someone cannot check if she sent the wrong document. I am also not convinced that they exercise the dogs. After we picked up my dog, he ran toward grass like he hadn't seen it all week. Not sure that I will board my dog here again.
If you're looking for the newest facility in town with fresh coffee in the lobby and high prices to go with it, then keep looking. Though if you're looking for a wonderful team of trained Vets, Techs and Front Staff that treat your pets as if they were one of their own, then Forsyth Vet is the place to go. They have stayed open late to perform emergency surgery on my "Little Bit." Answered all of my questions, made me feel at ease and my dogs actually like going there. Are they a small practice? Yes they are, but that is what I like most about them. Small enough to care and know you and your pets by name. It takes only one trip to the office to learn this. They have several house cats that they've rescued and stay there. The little black cat always greets me in the lobby and is so sweet. And there is always a dog or two behind the front counter to say hello. Thank you for all you do. My babies say hello :)
