This is a new park as of Aug. 2017. The bathrooms are very clean. There are water fountains that include water bottle refiller for free. There are no picnic tables so take a blanket but note there is no shade. Not really a good place for a picnic. The quarry is beautiful. The trails are nice and paved, winding and about 2 miles. They're for average fitness level.
The setting is beautiful. The landscaping is still really new, but as it grows in, I'm sure it'll be lush and amazing. The overlook is definitely the draw for the park. But, there are good walking trails too.
Wonderful new park for Winston Salem. All new benches, bike stands, facilities, etc and a fabulous overlook, and the use of stone in the park emphasizes that it used to be a rock quarry. Lots of open space and easy parking. Walked one of the paved trails so far. The only thing I don't like is we can't dive or swim in the inviting water!:)
Nice scenery. Very relaxing environment. Great place to hang out with friends and loved ones.
There is tons of parking, but the best part is that it's accessible from the Salem Lake Greenway. If you're heading to Salem Lake, don't miss the chance to swing by here and check out one of the best-kept secrets in Winston!
The newest park in the Winston-Salem area. Beautiful view looking down into the Quarry. You can see a part of the Winston-Salem Skyline in the background. Not too many sites to see, but when the landscaping fully fills in it will be very pretty. It's a peaceful place to come sit or take a walk.
Great new park for Winston-Salem. I would have loved it if people could be allowed to swim, but I understand why it's not allowed right now.
