Got my car fixed or at least I thought I did?? Less than a week later the noise returned! She said that it could be the other wheel! I was wondering why since she had my warranty which has since expired...didn't she take care of this? But when I went to several other mechanics they all informed of the poor quality of worksmanship I received from Cottman Transmission!! I had to pay to have same wheel bearings on the same wheel fixed!! I will never visit there again except to tell her a peace of my mind!!!
Easiest 5-star review I’ve ever given! My car broke down while I was in town on business and Susan (the store manager) was so helpful in making sure I was back on the road the same day. She even took me to Taco Bell when she realized I hadn’t eaten lunch yet and it would be another hour or so until my car was ready.
I did not have my car serviced there. I had been told by 2 other respected transmission service centers in the area that my trans needed replacing. The experienced front desk professional lady test drove and ran diagnostics and said the trans did not show any issues. She noted the vibration I was concerned with but she said it was not trans. Since then by chance we found a bad bushing and the vibration is gone. Although I did not have my car serviced there I relayed my experience to others and...if I ever need service I will only go to cottmans.

After a couple of hours of work on my rusted out lines, they were able to give me a temporary fix so I could at least get home. And they didn’t charge me a penny, even for the labor! I will definitely be going to their Charlotte location for the permanent fix I need! These are good people!
Terrible experience. My transmission locked up on my newer model Jeep, which was unexpected with only 90k miles. They recommended a full rebuild and I knew nothing so I went along with it. After more research I found out I was highly overcharged. Also, I get my Jeep back and it sounds horrible with a lot of grinding, there is a lot of hesitation, and it randomly would pop into neutral when in drive and reverse ( On an automatic). After multiple repeat visits complaining about all of this and mentioning how its under warranty ( this is all 2 weeks after getting it back), I loss confidence that they were competent enough to fix it. They seemed lazy as well, not wanting to actually open it up and correct any problems but instead insisted there was nothing wrong. So after trying for the 4th time, and buying multiple car rentals while they did nothing, I finally took it into the Jeep dealership and they asked who worked on it because it was all jacked up underneath. When I told them cottsman in winston they just laughed, saying this is not the first time they have seen their shoddy work. Multiple exhaust pieces had not been connected back properly causing vibration. None of these fixed the ultimate problem which is the transmission needs to be rebuilt again. So ultimately I wasted 5 grand on this place so if you ever get stranded dont have your car towed to the nearest transmission shopn on google maps like I did and take your time to have it towed to a more reputable place.
P.S...didn't want to rate that one star but I had no other choice!!
Spoke with Susan Jenkins the manager there. She seemed very nice at first! She even let know how other mechanics where ripping me off! So...naturally I thought that I could trust her!!
So...I needed wheel bearing and hubs. My warranty was about to end in less than a month. She really knew what to say and do in regards to these warranty companies! So...she got the warranty company to agree to pay!
