Was taken to the ER in an ambulance as I suffered a what seemed a bidirectional cluster head ache and blurry vision. According to the EMS they symptoms seemed of enough concern to warrant an emergency visit. After sitting in a wheel chair in a wet bathing suit (was swimming at the gym) with the air conditioning on high I got up and walked myself over to the bathroom where I took my wet clothes off and wrapped myself in the blanket given to me by the EMS team. I was dismissed by one doctor as symptoms that did not need urgent care and was sent to the Triage area. I approached a person wearing a white gown and asked to e helped. She, I found out later, was a doctor and responded with, the nurse is busy and will see you when my turn was up. I requested them to release me and remove the catheter in my right arm vein. Very unprofessional customer/patient service. They became irritated because I could not see the paper releasing them of liability and would not sign it without glasses. I walked away and believe me, I will not return there again.
Someone will be dead before the nurse can get to them for the simple fact if you call a nurse you will be waiting for about 10 to 20 minutes. Not only that but a lot of the nurses are rude and have a attitude all the time. I wouldn't even take my cat to this hospital. No wonder why they have so many cases against them. Someone should shut this hospital down
Four hrs in the waiting room. This isn't acceptable to do to anyone let alone anyone that already does'nt feel well . Really used to think this place was a step up from Baptist hospital , but tonight has made me second guess that opinion .
Was in the ER this morning as a patient and received excellent service from every.single.staff member that assisted. I have spent many hours in an ER( at a hospital in another area) with my mom before she passed. This is by fair the best experience ever. They immediately followed protocol for the symptoms I was exhibiting and the doctor took the time to fully explain what I was experiencing and what to expect going forward. I just can't say enough nice things about them. I hesitate to use names here but should I get a Novant survey they will be praised individually for expertise as well as attitude and compassion. Thank you!
My father has been here for nine days. First eight were in the Neuro ICU. Nurses and doctors and everyone was fantastically attentive. Could not ask for anyone to be more friendly and helpful. The same has been true with the Palliative Care floor. Unfortunately, there is a huge lack of communication between nurses and doctors. And when he came to the Palliative Care floor, they did not look through his records to see what has and has not worked. No one is in a hurry to make anyone comfortable. Maybe they are so much more used to seeing it than we are, but damn, give him something.
