Situated on the outskirts of downtown Winston-Salem, Bib's Downtown offers casual dining perfect for lunch with coworkers or dinner with friends. The building has ample space with free-standing tables that can easily be combined to accommodate larger groups. Orders are placed at the counter while food is brought to the table by friendly staff. What I appreciated was servers continued to check on our group even after the food had been delivered.
Food is great but the prices are a little high but well worth it. Go and enjoy the food. This was my 1st time and I will be going back. The beef bisket is to die for. Next time it's turkey
Guess this place won competitions before, but I did not love their food. Had the Brisket plate. Everything was a bit overdone, what I mean is the hush puppies had too much seasoning, the green beans were too sweet, the coleslaw had too much mayo. Too extreme on everything and I smoked for 20 years and usually find foods too bland! Brisket was fine but nothing special. Fair prices and good sweet tea though.
While on the pricier side for barbecue, the experience and taste is well worth it!
Bib's has really fantastic pulled pork. It has a subtle, comforting flavor that's not overwhelmed by BBQ sauce. I don't recommend the green beans, which were too sweet. I also tried pulled pork egg rolls from Bib's Favorites because it sounded really unique. One was really great but the flavor of the egg roll overwhelmed the subtle flavor of the pork in the others, which left me feeling somewhat disappointed.
Five star reviews are hard to come by in the heart of barbecue country but Bib's Downtown earns it with delicious meats and sides coupled with a cool location and friendly staff!
We came to Bib’s for lunch and they certainly didn’t disappoint. We ordered pulled pork, ribs and a BLT and they were all amazing. We also got dessert and they were all so delicious (banana pudding and Oreo pudding). The sides are what you’d expect at a BBQ restaurant and just as good as the main courses. Definitely have a meal here when in Winston Salem. You won’t be disappointed.
From a food perspective, Bib's Downtown is known for their brisket and pork ribs. The pit master is one of the best in the business and I would put their brisket and ribs up against any restaurant in the country. Plates come with hush puppies, Texas toast, slaw and one side. I would recommend a two meat plate with brisket and ribs, mac and cheese as a side and substitute the slaw for collards.
